Friends of Bracken Nature Reserve
Join us for the Friends of Bracken 20 YEARS CELEBRATION with a 5 km fun run.
There will be a variety of activities, music entertainment and stalls.
What to expect:
5 KM FUN RUN
- 8H00
- R50 adults and R20 kids (under 13).
- Walkers and runners are welcome.
- Refreshments will be provided.
- Medals for all finishers.
Rock Painting
- Free rock painting for kids of all ages.
- 9H00 - 10H20
- Theme: paint any animal (bird, mammal, reptile, insect, etc.) found in the wild of South Africa.
HISTORICAL WALK
- Free guided walk.
- 9H30 - 10H20
- History of an area before it became a nature reserve.
- Learn about the VOC signal cannon, granite quarry and landfill site.
HISTORICAL TALK
- Free talk at Environmental Centre.
- 10H30 - 11H00
- From then until now: Bracken Nature Reserve and the Friends of Bracken.
Gates will open from 07H00.

| Route information | - Take N1 east towards Brackenfell. - Take the ramp off the N1 at Okovango Rd. - Turn right onto Okovango Rd and go over the railway bridge. - Turn right onto Old Paarl Rd and drive past Shoprite Brackenfell. - Turn left onto Kruis Rd and drive towards traffic department. - Turn left onto Reservoir St and drive up until you get to Bracken Nature Reserve. - Old entrance is currently closed so drive further up Reservoir St until you get to the pump station on your left. |
