The Grind Fitness and Events
What is it?
Our winter warmer event is a muddy, wet, Winter Obstacle Race with a warm ending...think heaters, hot chocolate and soup in a cosy clubhouse.
Why?
We asked you to answer our poll and and we were bombarded with over 98% of people saying YES to a winter event...we listened and now we will deliver an amazing event for you.
This event will consist of a short course designed for everyone from beginner to elite athletes. The course will be no less than 5km long. Every athlete will get a finishers medal.
For the ELITE competitive race the course will be modified in a similar way to 1701 - ELITE athletes can expect very tough variations to the obstacles.
Classes as follows:
THE RAPID GRIND 5km: 30+ obstacles with easier obstacles but still challenging.
As always the Rapid Grind has been designed with first timers in mind and is a great introduction to Obstacle Course Racing. It will be challenging but achievable and is suitable for all fitness levels. Ideal for groups to get together have fun on the course or solos wanting to test their abilities.

THE RAPID GRIND ELITE 5 km: An officially timed, competitive race with 30+ obstacles (similar course to the Rapid Grind except with modified obstacles). If you have enjoyed our 12 km races before than this is the race for you. Prize Money up for grabs.
TICKET PRICE - R 500.00
THE RAPID GRIND MASTERS 5 km : An officially timed, competitive batch for athletes who are age 40 or above during the year of the race. 30+ obstacles (similar course to the Rapid Grind except with modified obstacles). Prizes up for grabs.
TICKET PRICE - R 400.00
THE RAPID GRIND YOUNG GUNS 5 km : An officially timed, competitive batch
for athletes who are under 18
during the year of race day.

FAMILY BATCH - The Rapid Grind 5km : For Families to enjoy the Grind together. This will be the last batch of the day where Mom and Dad can take their little ones along our course with no pressure in a fun environment. For every adult ticket purchased one child gets to do The Grind for Free with their parent. This is limited to kids between 6 and 11 years old and each child must be accompanied by the paying adult at all times. Some obstacles will be closed off for safety reasons. Parents must act responsibly with their children at all times. Marshalls along the course will be extremely strict to ensure a safe experience for all participants.
THE TIME OF THIS BATCH WILL BE ANNOUNCED CLOSER TO THE EVENT - ESTIMATED START TIME WILL BE BETWEEN 2PM AND 4PM
TICKET PRICE - R 350.00 per adult one child accompanies free of charge
The Elites will kick off the event with their batch starting at 9 am. They will be followed by the Masters and the Young Guns competitive divisions
The regular Rapid Grind batches will start from 10 am.
There will also be a Little G race for the youngsters which will be a course based on the main event but with the little ones in mind. This is recommended for ages 4-11 years. Tickets will be R 120 and the course will run all day from 10 am.

This event supports team entries for certain classes. Team sizes range from 2 - 25 participants per team.
