The Cape Mile is a one mile (1.6km) open water swimming race that takes place at the Grabouw Country Club’s Eikenhof Dam, giving Western Cape swimmers the chance to participate in a safe, mass swim. The dark, pristine waters of the Eikenhof Dam provide the perfect setting for an event which appeals to the curious and competent. The inaugural Sanlam Cape Mile was held in 2015 and was a resounding success, with some of the country’s top swimmers featuring in a field of over 1200 swimmers.
